Do you like the new website of Postman?

Post by Unebril »

I don't like the new postman's tracker2 torrent website.
I am missing the Postman meme and it is over-reactive IMHO.
I am more the static html lover without fake-enrichments of javascript that only blur the webpage content.
I'd like to return to the old one, what do you think?

Hi Unebril!
More and more companies are offering their employees and freelancers an electronic mailbox for suggestions for improvement. In this way, employers benefit from the experience of practitioners in the field and employees benefit because they get the valuable feeling of being allowed to consider themselves part of the company.

I love it. Websites shouldn't look like it's still the 1990s. It could be improved more. However, the website seems down now but maybe that's just me. That didn't happen often before and it's been down for a while now.

Reloading from the browser cache takes 1.2 seconds. Page change between 20 and 30 seconds, 98 seconds until the wish page is fully loaded. Is that bad or very very bad, or is it already considered offline?

When websites are changed for no better reason than to "update" their appearance, functionality usually suffers. In this case, I don't remember specifics, but I remember that the changes made a couple things harder to do. That's not an improvement, it's a step backward. I appreciate the effort and expense that goes into running a site like Postman, but I think it would've been a better choice to put the effort into improving functionality.

Site with eye candy is less efficient ("eww the javascript and the animations").
OTOH, site without eye candy can turn away some normie users ("eww it looks ancient and where is my eye candy").

Since the redesign by dr|z3d, the website loads much faster than ever before. You can also check the loading of the pages with their styles and graphics yourself using the network analysis tools that are already included in the major browsers. The changes made over the years can be looked up on the News page.
